Armenian Heritage Month

April is an extremely important to month to Nazeli Design as it is marked as Armenian heritage month and also the remembrance of the Armenian Genocide. Our founder and principal designer is of proud Armenian descent and we wanted to highlight some incredible brands that inspire us that are Armenian owned and founded.

You've probably heard of most of these brands but you might not have known that they were created by an Armenian. Starting off strong is none other than the luxury perfume brand Maison Francis Kurkdjian. They are known for their incredible scents and sold in major department stores. Not only do they create divine scented perfumes but most are unisex and they sell candles, body oils, and mists of different variations.

The beauty industry in particular has many recognized brands that are Armenian founded and owned that you may not have any idea about. We are so proud to see these brands flourishing because their products are just that good. Patricks Ta’s cofounder a fellow Armenian has done an absolutely wonderful job with the brand. There is also Dose of Colors and Elcie Cosmetics who have really come into the beauty industry and have changed the game. A lot of them have backgrounds in being makeup artists so you know they really know what they're doing and what kinds of products they're producing. Another fan favorite is Persona Cosmetics, have you tried any of their products because they do all the explaining for themselves. It is also so refreshing to see women in business thriving and motivates us that much more.

How could we forget about Michael Aram? A leading brand in many department stores nowadays that includes beautiful home decor pieces. From a variation of items such as vases, picture frames, cheese boards all the way to candles. Although no longer owned by an Armenian it was founded by him. It is so refreshing to find a home decor brand that is so inclusive to our culture. Their pomegranate collection is of course one of our favorites.

We hope that you recognize all that Armenians as a unit have gained and lost. We are resilient and not going anywhere and are so proud to be able to be a part of this beautiful community. There is so much going on in the world and our beautiful Armenia is one of them. The issues we face as a culture are still happening in different areas of Armenia and we hope to see the day that it all gets resolved. If you ever have the opportunity to visit you should absolutely see our beautiful country and our nurturing and wonderful people.
