how to pick the right paint color

Picking paint colors can be an overwhelming decision. For example, what is the difference between dove white, eggshell, and just regular white? The many different shades of a particular color can consume you during a renovation yet makes the biggest difference. There are many ways to decide on the right shade. It is important to consider the purpose of the space. Depending on the different rooms is where you’ll be able to associate a color. Durability is also something you want to consider and if it is ultimately worth splurging for a different paint type and finish. 

The first thing to do is to narrow down if you prefer a regular paint or a specialty paint such as roman clay or lime wash. You can't go wrong with either option.  We are a fan favorite over at Nazeli Design of specialty paint of course, who isn’t? We do understand how it could just not be for everyone and that's okay! It ultimately comes down to what will fit the space best. I think we all know that the brighter you do the room the bigger but most people don't factor in that the finish you choose too will create the same illusion. A glossy finish can make the room appear larger while a more flat finish can hide more imperfections. 

Just because we like specialty paint it does not mean we are over regular, let me make myself clear. Sometimes the original is just the way to go. Lastly, we always recommend this to our clients as well to paint a few strips on the wall and let it sit overnight. You can see how it'll dry and if the color and finish is what you're looking for.
